Health Guarantee

Clear health standards, veterinary guidance, and support through the first days at home.

Our Promise

AY Great Dane Puppies is committed to raising healthy, well cared for Great Dane puppies. Each puppy is raised in clean conditions, handled daily, and supported with proper nutrition and routine care. This Health Guarantee explains what we cover, what we provide, and what we ask from you to protect your puppy's wellbeing.

Veterinary Exam Before Placement

Each puppy is examined by a licensed veterinarian before going home. Puppies leave with age appropriate care and a record of services completed, based on the schedule recommended by our veterinarian.

What Is Covered

This guarantee covers life threatening congenital conditions that significantly impact your puppy's quality of life and are confirmed by a licensed veterinarian. If a covered condition is diagnosed within the time period listed below, you may qualify for a remedy as outlined in this policy.

Guarantee Time Period

The Health Guarantee is valid for 12 months from the date your puppy goes home.

Your Responsibilities

  • Schedule a wellness exam with a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of taking your puppy home.
  • Provide ongoing routine veterinary care, including vaccinations and parasite prevention as recommended by your veterinarian.
  • Feed a quality puppy diet suitable for large breed growth and provide fresh water at all times.
  • Maintain a safe, clean living environment and provide appropriate exercise for a growing Great Dane.
  • Avoid harmful substances and prevent accidents, including overheating and rough activity that could cause injury.

What Is Not Covered

  • Illness caused by viruses, bacteria, parasites, or exposure after the puppy leaves our care.
  • Common, treatable conditions such as minor skin irritation, mild allergies, stress related digestive upset, or routine parasites, unless life threatening and confirmed as congenital.
  • Injuries, accidental poisoning, neglect, or improper handling.
  • Costs related to routine care, including vaccines, deworming, fecal tests, heartworm prevention, or spay and neuter.
  • Conditions related to normal growth, normal bite changes, or cosmetic preferences that do not affect health.

If a Health Issue Is Found

If your veterinarian diagnoses a serious health concern, contact us within 24 hours of the diagnosis. Provide the following:

  • A written statement from the veterinarian with diagnosis details.
  • Test results and supporting medical records.
  • Recommended treatment plan and prognosis.

We may request a second opinion from a veterinarian of our choice, at our expense for the exam only, before any decision is made.

Remedy Options

If a covered congenital condition is confirmed within the guarantee period, AY Great Dane Puppies will offer one of the following options, at our discretion:

  • Replacement puppy of similar value from a future litter when available.
  • Partial credit toward a future puppy.

Veterinary bills, travel costs, shipping costs, and other expenses are the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Return Policy for Replacement

A replacement or credit requires return of the puppy, unless prohibited by veterinary guidance. If return is required, the buyer agrees to provide safe return arrangements. No replacement can be issued without meeting the requirements listed in this guarantee.

Keeping Your Puppy Healthy

Great Danes need steady routines and thoughtful growth management. Avoid overfeeding, excessive jumping, and intense exercise during growth. Keep your puppy at a healthy body condition, schedule regular checkups, and contact your veterinarian if you notice changes in appetite, movement, energy, or breathing.
